In his statement, he remarked that the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people are a glorious chapter in history, adding that Pakistan will continue to fully support their right to self-determination. He urged India to immediately halt its tyranny and oppression in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IoJK).

President Zardari called for an immediate end to human rights violations in the occupied territory, the release of all political prisoners, an end to the military siege, and a stop to Indian efforts to alter the demographic composition of IoJK. He further stated that India's unilateral actions on August 5, 2019, were illegal, and urged the international community to play its role in protecting human rights in the region.
