Tragic shooting on Dijkot Road claims lives of mother and daughter, father critically injured; younger brother suspected in family dispute

Faisalabad 9 Oct (DIGITAL ITLA): In a shocking and tragic domestic violence incident on Dijkot Road, indiscriminate firing claimed the lives of a mother and her young daughter, while leaving the father critically injured.

According to Rescue 1122 and local authorities, the brutal shooting occurred on October 9, 2026, in Street No. 7, Khalidabad, located off Dijkot Road. Initial reports and statements from grieving relatives suggest that a family dispute prompted the assailant—allegedly the younger brother—to open fire on his elder brother's family.

Rescue officials confirmed that 35-year-old Saman (wife of Rizwan) and her 11-year-old daughter Meerab (daughter of Rizwan) succumbed to their bullet injuries on the spot. The head of the household, 52-year-old Rizwan (son of Ghulam Nabi), sustained critical injuries during the attack.

Emergency medical teams from Rescue 1122 rushed to the scene, administering first aid to the wounded Rizwan before swiftly shifting him to Allied Hospital-II for emergency medical care, where he remains in critical condition. Meanwhile, rescue personnel, in the presence of police officers, transferred the bodies of the deceased mother and daughter to Allied Hospital Faisalabad for medico-legal procedures.

Preliminary statements from relatives indicate that the suspect, identified as the victim's younger brother, carried out the attack following a domestic dispute. Police have cordoned off the area, initiated a forensic investigation, and launched a manhunt to apprehend the fleeing suspect.
