Tragic bus-rickshaw collision on Samundri Road leaves 8-year-old girl dead and 13 injured

Faisalabad 11 Oct (DIGITAL ITLA): A speeding passenger bus rammed into a motorized rickshaw from behind near Saloni Jhal on Samundri Road, leaving the rickshaw completely wrecked. The violent impact resulted in the immediate death of an eight-year-old girl, identified as Hadiya daughter of Adnan (resident of Chak No. 135 GB, Samundri), and severely injured 13 other passengers, including women and young children. The bus driver fled the scene immediately after the crash, abandoning the vehicle on the road.

Upon receiving the emergency alert, Rescue 1122 personnel rushed to the spot with multiple ambulances to initiate rescue operations. According to official rescue records, the injured victims include a family from Shaikhupura City—Khalid Mehmood, his wives Lubna and Shazia, and sons Azan and Atif—alongside Maqsooda Bibi, Misbah, Subhan, Muazam, Farhan, two-year-old Khadija, and Adnan from Chak 135 GB, as well as Shoukat from Chak 257 RB.

Emergency responders shifted the deceased minor and all the wounded victims to a nearby hospital, where medical staff are administering critical treatment. Police authorities have impounded both vehicles, secured the accident site, and launched targeted raids to trace and arrest the fleeing bus driver under relevant traffic and criminal laws.
