"Suthra Punjab" Sanitation Workers Protest Outside Meizan Company Office in Chak Jhumra Over Unpaid Salaries

CHAK JHUMRA 6 Oct (Digital Itla): Sanitation workers under the "Suthra Punjab" initiative continued their protest outside the Meizan Company office in Chak Jhumra on Tuesday, alleging non-payment of their full salaries.

Speaking to reporters, the protesting workers stated that despite performing their duties with complete dedication amid soaring inflation, they are being denied their agreed-upon wages. They warned that the delayed and partial payments have put their livelihoods at stake, making it increasingly difficult to feed their families.

The demonstrators emphasized that they work hard daily to clear garbage and maintain a clean environment for citizens, yet face unjustified obstacles in receiving their rightful dues. They urged higher authorities to take immediate notice of the situation, summon company officials for accountability, and ensure the timely disbursement of full wages. The workers cautioned that the protest could be expanded if their demands are ignored.

Meanwhile, local residents also appealed to the relevant authorities to promptly resolve the grievances of the sanitation staff to prevent any disruption to the municipal cleaning system in Chak Jhumra.
