(Digital Itla) The tax collection target for the first month of the current fiscal year has been achieved, with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) collecting Rs 40 billion more than the target in July.
According to official documents, the FBR’s tax target for July was set at Rs 780 billion, whereas total tax collection reached Rs 820 billion.
The document indicates that FBR recorded a 105% tax collection efficiency in July 2026. The FBR collected a gross tax of Rs 918 billion, out of which Rs 98 billion was paid out in tax refunds.
For income tax, the target was Rs 323 billion, while the net collection stood at Rs 308 billion. A gross amount of Rs 343 billion was collected under income tax, from which Rs 35 billion was issued as refunds.
In July, a total of Rs 413 billion was collected in sales tax, while Rs 53 billion was issued as sales tax refunds. Under the Federal Excise Duty, Rs 48 billion was collected against a target of Rs 47 billion.
According to the document, customs duty collection in July 2026 reached Rs 115 billion against a target of Rs 105 billion.
