NCCIA Faisalabad Arrests Suspect for Harassing and Blackmailing Late Nephew’s Widow Via Fake Facebook Profile

FAISALABAD: 7 Oct (Digital Itla)  The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Faisalabad has arrested a man for creating a fake Facebook profile to harass and blackmail his own late nephew’s widow by sharing her objectionable data online.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), the accused, Zulfiqar Ali, acquired the mobile phone of the complainant's late husband (his own late nephew), which contained private and sensitive data. Using this material, the accused created a fake Facebook account under the name "Fatima Saeed" and began blackmailing the victim and sending her objectionable content to her relatives.

A formal case has been registered under Sections 20, 21, and 24 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016 at the Police Station NCCIA Faisalabad, and the mobile phone carrying the incriminating digital evidence has been recovered.
