Faisalabad 13 Oct 2026 (DIGITAL ITLA): Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan asserted that meritocracy, transparency, justice, rule of law, and effective accountability form the cornerstone of good governance. He emphasized that economic stability is inextricably linked to political stability, calling for structural institutional reforms in education, healthcare, and law enforcement.

He expressed these views while addressing an interactive session titled "Good Governance: Inclusivity, Diversity, and Institutional Effectiveness" at the University of Faisalabad. Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan noted that navigating state challenges—ranging from counterterrorism to human capital development—requires constitutional state organs to fulfill their mandated roles with collective responsibility.

Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan urged that public appointments and administrative decisions must strictly adhere to transparent, predictable principles over discretionary power. Highlighting parliamentary oversight, budget scrutiny, and legislative evaluation, he underscored the role of elected forums in enforcing institutional accountability. Furthermore, he advocated for empowering local governments under Article 140-A of the Constitution and promoting inclusive participation for women, minorities, and marginalized segments. Commending the university's "Innovative Pakistan 4.0" initiative, he encouraged youth to engage in research-driven civic dialogue.
