(Digital Itla) Following the controversy over the President not approving the summary for judicial appointments, the Federal Government decided to move forward in accordance with the Constitution.
According to government sources, legal consultations under Article 48 and Article 75 of the Constitution have been completed to issue the notification for judicial appointments.
Under Article 48, the President is bound by the Prime Minister's advice. Standard procedure allows the President 15 days to raise objections and send a summary back. However, sources state the President has not sent any written objections to the Judicial Commission's recommendations within this timeframe, which expires this week.
If no formal objections are received within the stipulated period, the summary will automatically be deemed approved. Should the President raise objections, the Prime Minister will resend a new summary; if left unsigned for another 10 days, it will be automatically approved, allowing the Federal Government to issue the notification directly.
