FAISALABAD, Pakistan 27 Sep (Digital Itla) — Authorities in Faisalabad have begun construction on five multi-story parking plazas costing 1.6 billion Pakistani rupees ($5.7 million) to address severe traffic congestion around the historic Ghanta Ghar Clock Tower and its eight surrounding bazaars, officials said on Sunday.

The infrastructure project, scheduled for completion by March 2027, will accommodate more than 7,000 motorcycles across key commercial sites, including Rajbaha Road, Aminpur Bazaar, Katchery Bazaar, and Douglaspura.

Faisalabad Division Commissioner Dr. Imran Hamid Sheikh announced the initiative during a meeting with local trader delegations, stating that weekly progress reviews will be conducted to ensure early and transparent completion.

Municipal Chief Officer Usman Ghani and City Assistant Commissioner Aurangzeb Goraya joined senior infrastructure officials at the briefing, emphasizing the administration's commitment to creating a favorable business environment for the city's commercial hubs.
