(Digital Itla) The Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) have announced that the Strait of Hormuz has been closed until further notice.

Iran's state broadcaster reported that the IRGC Navy declared the Strait of Hormuz temporarily closed "until further notice." According to the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), the IRGC Navy stated that any foreign intervention in the Strait of Hormuz or any attempt to allegedly designate an "illegal route" for navigation would face a harsh response.

According to the Revolutionary Guards Navy, several naval vessels ignored warnings regarding course correction and choosing the approved maritime transit route. One vessel allegedly turned off its navigation systems, putting maritime security at risk, and warning shots were fired after it ignored orders to alter its course.

The semi-official Fars News Agency reported that the ship was targeted with a cruise missile after it ignored return warnings from Iranian authorities. The IRGC Navy stated that until US intervention in the region ends, no naval vessel will be allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. The statement further warned that any new attack or violation would receive a full response, which would include targeting the enemy's alleged new bases in the region.
