Bride Dances Out of Joy; In-Laws Object and Return the Barat Without the Wedding

10 June 2026

(Digital Itla) A wedding ceremony in the Indian state of Haryana turned into a major dispute when the groom's family, deeply offended by the bride's dance performance during her entrance, left the venue and took the Barat (wedding procession) back home.

Reports indicate that the bride was dancing joyfully during her grand entry, capturing the attention of the large gathering of guests. However, this display did not sit well with the groom's family. The groom's father and elder brother raised severe objections to her dancing, sparking a heated exchange of words between the two families. The situation escalated to the point where the groom's family decided to cancel all wedding rituals, leaving the ceremony incomplete and returning home.
