Complete Results Extracted for 12 Constituencies in GB Elections: PPP Leading, PML-N Trails Behind

(Digital Itla) Complete results for 12 constituencies have been received in the Gilgit-Baltistan general elections, showing the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in the lead and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) trailing. According to the unofficial and unfinalized results received so far for these 12 seats, the PPP has won 6 seats, MWM has secured 1, PML-N has taken 2, and independent candidates have emerged victorious in 5 constituencies.
The PPP has taken an initial edge in the electoral race by securing 6 seats, while 5 independent candidates have also managed to win their respective battlegrounds. According to initial reports, PPP's Muhammad Ali Akhtar won from GBA-4 Nagar, Zulfiqar Murad from GBA-5 Nagar, Touqeer Mehdi Shah from GBA-7 Skardu, Iqbal Hassan from GBA-11 Kharmang, and Syed Jalal Shah from GBA-19. Meanwhile, PML-N secured two seats, with Ibrahim Sanai emerging victorious from GBA-22 Ghanche-1. Among the independent candidates, Anwar Ali won GBA-23, Asad Shafique won GBA-24 Ghanche, and Naiknam Karim claimed victory in GBA-6, while other independent candidates maintain leads. Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) has also secured one seat.

GBA-1 Gilgit: Out of 80 polling stations, unofficial results from 35 stations show PPP’s Amjad Advocate leading with 6,950 votes, while PML-N’s Shafiquddin is in second place with 4,235 votes.

The polling process for the 24 general seats of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly continued uninterrupted from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, drawing a massive public turnout. Following the conclusion of polling, vote counting is underway, and unofficial results continue to pour in. Women, the elderly, and differently-abled individuals turned out in large numbers, forming long queues throughout the day. The overall law and order situation remained peaceful, with a fierce three-way competition witnessed between the PPP, PML-N, and IPP. A total of 403 candidates, including 8 women, contested the election, while over 963,000 registered voters exercised their right to vote across 1,391 polling stations (349 declared sensitive, 551 highly sensitive).
