(Digital Itla) The World Bank will provide $100 million for the "Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar" (Our Roof, Our Home) program. During a meeting chaired by the Provincial Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Bilal Yasin, the Director General of PHATA and the Project Director gave a detailed briefing on the World Bank-assisted Punjab Affordable Housing Program. The restructuring of the program was also approved during the session.
Speaking on the occasion, Bilal Yasin stated that the funds provided by the World Bank will significantly accelerate housing construction projects and help achieve the set targets. He emphasized that the Government of Punjab is extending every possible facility to low-income and deserving families to help them realize their dream of owning a home. The Housing Minister added that interest-free loans worth PKR 1.5 million per family will be distributed among deserving households in various districts of Punjab to enable them to complete the construction of their homes. He reiterated the commitment to maximize the reach of the "Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar" program to benefit as many deserving individuals as possible, making this public welfare initiative more effective.
