(Digital Itla) Monthly data regarding the sales of various types of fuel in Pakistan has been released, showing a massive year-on-year drop of 23% and a month-on-month drop of 14% in the sale of petroleum products.

Key Statistics (May 2026): A total of 1.172 million tons of petroleum products were sold in May 2026. Production at oil refineries also dipped by 7%.

Breakdown by Fuel Type: * Furnace Oil: Saw the steepest decline, plunging 64% year-on-year and 79% month-on-month, dropping from 80,000 tons down to just 29,000 tons.

Diesel: Sales fell by 32% year-on-year to 455,000 tons.

Petrol: Sales dropped 12% year-on-year to 617,000 tons.

Company Performance: Pakistan State Oil (PSO) witnessed a 19% drop in sales, Attock Petroleum fell by 30%, Wafi Energy fell by 16%, and Hascol Petroleum experienced a 37% decline.
