Brilliant Introduces AI Tutor That Teaches Children to Think Instead of Rote Learning

Silicon Valley (Digital Itla): The educational platform Brilliant has introduced a unique AI Tutor that trains children to think, question, and find solutions by understanding the problem, rather than relying on rote learning. Unveiling the world’s first AI graphical tutor, Brilliant founder Sue Khim stated that this technology has been designed to make children smarter. In her message on the social media platform X, she wrote that AI is making children weaker, whereas it should be making them smarter. She added that this is the first AI tutor that truly forces children to think. The special feature of this AI tutor is that it has been developed under the 'Socratic method of teaching', where instead of giving direct answers, guidance is provided to children through questions so they can understand the problem and reach the solution themselves. This approach fosters critical thinking, analytical capacity, and problem-solving skills among students, reducing their reliance on traditional AI models that simply provide ready-made answers.
