(Digital Itla) A joint operation by the Pakistan Army, police, and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in the Miryan area of Bannu resulted in the killing of 16 terrorists, including two key militant commanders, while two police officers were martyred.

According to security sources, the operation was launched on confirmed intelligence regarding the presence of militants. Security forces surrounded the area and engaged in a heavy exchange of fire, destroying several militant hideouts.

Authorities identified the slain commanders as Zamri Noor and Abdullah Saeed, who were allegedly leading terrorist activities in the region and were wanted by security agencies.

During the operation, Constables Waheedullah Khan and Noorullah Khan embraced martyrdom while performing their duties. Funeral prayers for the martyrs were offered with official honors at Police Lines Bannu, attended by senior civil and military officials, police officers, tribal elders, and local residents.

Security officials said the clearance operation has been completed, while search operations are still underway to locate possible facilitators. Authorities reaffirmed that anti-terror operations will continue until terrorism is completely eradicated from the country.
