According to foreign media reports, the incident occurred at the Liuxinyu coal mine in Chengzi city, where a powerful explosion took place last evening due to a gas buildup.
Initially, eight deaths were reported, but Chinese authorities later confirmed that the death toll had risen to 82.
Following the incident, rescue teams immediately reached the site and began search operations for people trapped under the debris.
