MD directs increase in commercial consumers and recovery of outstanding dues

FAISALABAD, Aug. 18, 2026: Managing Director WASA Faisalabad Saqib Raza has made it mandatory to increase the number of commercial consumers and achieve revenue recovery targets, warning that revenue officers who fail to meet their assigned targets could be transferred.

Chairing a meeting, the WASA chief said the number of commercial consumers within WASA Faisalabad’s jurisdiction was currently low and needed to be increased.

He directed officials to prepare a list of revenue officers who fail to achieve their assigned recovery targets so that their allowances and other benefits could be withdrawn.

Saqib Raza also directed officials to inform developers of all private housing colonies that septic tanks must be constructed in every house, while recharge wells must also be established in parks.

He further said that housing colonies that had agreed to pay outstanding dues in installments must comply with their commitments. Those failing to make payments according to the agreed schedule should face cancellation of their No Objection Certificates (NOCs).

The MD also directed officials to issue show-cause notices to industrial units located along Sargodha Road to ensure the recovery of monthly bills and regularization of their water and sewerage connections.

Saqib Raza said improved revenue recovery was essential for strengthening WASA’s financial position, which would enable the department to further improve the quality of water supply and drainage services for citizens.
