Faisalabad RPO Holds Open Court, Hears Complaints of More Than 250 Citizens

FAISALABAD: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Faisalabad, Sohail Akhtar Sukhaira, held an open court at the Regional Police Office as part of the Punjab government's initiative to ensure prompt, transparent and impartial justice for the public.

The event was organized in line with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif's vision of improving public access to justice and strengthening confidence in law enforcement.

During the open court, more than 250 applications and complaints submitted by citizens from across the Faisalabad region were heard. The RPO issued on-the-spot orders for legal action and immediate relief in more than 80 cases, while the remaining complaints were referred to the relevant officers for further inquiry and necessary action.

Sohail Akhtar Sukhaira directed officials to ensure that all pending applications are processed within the prescribed time frame in accordance with the law and that complainants receive timely justice.

Addressing the participants, the RPO said providing citizens with prompt, transparent and impartial justice remains the Punjab Police's top priority. He stressed that ensuring justice for vulnerable and underprivileged members of society is the department's responsibility and that negligence in this regard would not be tolerated.

He also warned that misconduct with citizens, unnecessary delays in registering criminal cases or any obstruction in the delivery of justice would be dealt with strictly. He instructed police officers to conduct investigations on merit, maintain transparency and ensure that all cases are handled in accordance with the law without any external influence.

The RPO said the primary objective of the open courts is to provide citizens with quick and effective access to justice, strengthen public trust in the police and ensure the timely resolution of public complaints. He reaffirmed the Faisalabad Police's commitment to improving policing standards and maintaining public confidence in law enforcement.
