(Digital Itla) A dignified ceremony was held at General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi to mark the 99th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of the People’s Republic of China.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong attended as the chief guest, alongside officials from the Chinese Embassy and a large number of senior officers from all three branches of the Pakistan Armed Forces.
The ISPR stated that Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir warmly welcomed the distinguished guests upon their arrival at GHQ. On this occasion, the Field Marshal congratulated the People's Liberation Army on its 99th anniversary and paid rich tribute to the PLA's outstanding contributions to China's defense, development, and the promotion of global peace and security.
Addressing the ceremony, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir said that Pak-China friendship is a unique, time-tested relationship that has consistently stood the test of time and remained strong and steadfast despite changing regional and global challenges.
He reiterated that the Pakistan Armed Forces and the People's Liberation Army are true partners bound by an unbreakable bond of mutual trust, and that Pakistan and China remain fully committed to regional peace, stability, and safeguarding shared interests.
During the event, Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong thanked the Field Marshal for organizing the splendid ceremony. He commended the valuable contributions and sacrifices made by the Pakistani armed forces in the fight against terrorism.
Reaffirming China’s commitment to providing unwavering support to Pakistan in every difficult time, the Chinese ambassador emphasized further promoting the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership between the two countries.
