How Low-Income Families Can Get Interest-Free Loans Up to 1 Million Rupees: Easy Application Method

(Digital Itla) The procedure for low-income individuals to obtain interest-free loans of up to Rs 1 million for home repairs and roof restoration has been revealed.

According to details, the Punjab government has launched an excellent welfare program to help low-income families repair their homes, restore damaged roofs, and construct upper floors.

Under this program, eligible applicants will be provided interest-free loans ranging from Rs 500,000 to Rs 1,000,000.

The government has introduced two different categories for applicants on the official portal: the first is full loans under the "Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar" (Our Roof, Our Home) program, and the second is loans dedicated specifically to roof repairs and restoration.

Eligibility Criteria

The government has laid down certain mandatory conditions to obtain the loan:

  • The applicant must be a permanent resident of Punjab holding a NADRA-verified Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC).

  • Must own residential land/house up to 5 marlas in urban areas or up to 10 marlas in rural areas.

  • The applicant's age must be between 21 and 60 years at the time of application submission.

  • The applicant must not be a defaulter of any bank or financial institution and must possess a clean financial record.

  • The applicant must not have been convicted of any serious criminal offense and is bound to verify their record through NADRA and the Punjab Land Records Authority.

Interested individuals can register an account by visiting the official portal: [https://acag.punjab.gov.pk](https://acag.punjab.gov.pk).

After logging in, select your preferred loan category and upload the required documents, including your CNIC, proof of property ownership (Fard), and photographs of your current home.

To guide and assist the public, special help desks have been set up in the offices of all Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners across Punjab, as well as the Regional and Deputy Directors' offices in FATA, where applications can also be submitted in person.
