QUETTA: Security forces killed five militants during an intelligence-based operation in the Killi Soran area of Panjgur district in Balochistan, security sources said.

According to the sources, the operation was conducted under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3. The militants were travelling on motorcycles and were allegedly planning terrorist activities when security forces targeted them using advanced technology and weapons.

A large quantity of modern weapons and ammunition was recovered from the militants. Security forces also recovered three vehicles, two motorcycles, an improvised explosive device (IED), and a flag of a banned organisation.

Security sources said the militants were allegedly involved in planning robbery, extortion, kidnapping for ransom and targeted killings.

According to the military’s media wing, on August 10, 2026, security forces also killed five militants belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan during a high-tempo, intelligence-driven operation in Panjgur.

The military said the operation was part of an ongoing counter-terrorism campaign aimed at eliminating militant networks and restoring lasting peace in the region.

Following the operation, security teams recovered and destroyed a significant cache of weapons, ammunition and IEDs, while sanitisation operations were conducted to eliminate any remaining threats.

Security forces reiterated their commitment to eliminating terrorism from Balochistan and maintaining peace and security across the province.
