FAISALABAD, Sept 29, 2026 (DIGITAL ITLA) — In accordance with the directives of Director General Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Muhammad Asif Chaudhry, the ongoing campaign against illegal commercialization in FDA-controlled residential colonies has been further intensified. Enforcement teams have been instructed to strictly implement the commercialization policy and take effective measures to recover prescribed dues and imposed fines in cases where residential properties are used for commercial purposes.

To review progress on these matters, a meeting was chaired by Additional Director General FDA Qaiser Abbas Rand. The meeting was attended by Director Town Planning Asma Mohsin, Director Town Planning Afnan Saeed Sindhu, Director Estate Management-I Junaid Hassan Munj, Deputy Director Finance Adnan Shehzad, Deputy Director IT Abdullah Noor, and other relevant officers.

Reviewing the ongoing campaign against illegal commercialization in FDA-controlled residential colonies and katchi abadis, the Additional Director General stated that there should be no leniency or delay in departmental actions regarding the commercial use of residential properties. He directed that applications received for commercialization be processed swiftly and that applicants be provided complete guidance and facilitation to complete the commercialization process in accordance with established rules and regulations.

Qaiser Abbas Rand clarified that alongside curbing illegal commercial activities, facilitating property owners who fulfill legal requirements is among FDA's top priorities. To achieve this, effective coordination and mutual cooperation between relevant departments will be further improved to eliminate unnecessary delays during scrutiny, assessment of dues, and approval stages. He directed that field surveys and monitoring be made more effective to identify properties violating the commercialization policy, issue notices to violators, and initiate legal action. Furthermore, relevant officers were instructed to closely follow up on the recovery of commercialization fees, dues, and fines to ensure that government revenues are collected without fail.
