FAISALABAD, Pakistan, Sept 24 Digital Itla — Faisalabad’s District Quality Control Board has referred 16 cases involving medical stores and clinics allegedly operated by unqualified persons to a drug court, officials said on Thursday.

The board reviewed 49 cases and heard the positions of those facing departmental action. It issued warnings in 18 cases, while 14 cases were deferred because the required records were incomplete.

The meeting was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner for Social Services Zahid Iqbal at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office. Secretary Quality Control Board Mohsin Asghar and drug inspectors attended the meeting.

Iqbal directed drug inspectors to strengthen enforcement against the sale of counterfeit and substandard medicines and said action should be taken in accordance with the law against activities that endanger public health.

The secretary briefed the meeting on the details and status of the cases under review.
