Decision on War or Peace Will Be Made Solely by the Supreme Leader, Says Abbas Araghchi

(Digital Itla) Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that the authority to decide on war or peace rests solely with Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei.

According to foreign media reports, the Iranian Foreign Minister said in a recent interview that the decision for a ceasefire with the United States was made with the consensus of the military and political leadership. All decisions were made in consultation with the Supreme National Security Council and in accordance with the country's constitution.

The Iranian Foreign Minister stated that negotiations resumed following US demands to halt uranium enrichment and threats of military action, aiming to clarify that Iran had fully utilized the diplomatic option.

He further added that the impression that he is close to Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is incorrect, stating that he has never met him and only a few people are allowed to meet the Supreme Leader.
