(Digital Itla) A Standing Committee has ordered all private schools to ensure free education for 10% of their students.

According to ARY News, 10% of students in all private schools across Punjab will receive free education. The Standing Committee has directed all private schools to implement this provision within 10 days.

During a meeting of the Punjab Assembly Standing Committee, non-compliance with the legal requirement regarding 10% free education in private schools was discussed.

A committee member suggested that instead of relying solely on school-provided data, the department itself should enroll deserving children in private schools to make verification easier.

The Committee Chairman ordered that schools failing to comply with the 10% free education directive within 10 days will have their licenses canceled.

On this occasion, the Secretary of School Education informed the committee that data regarding the 10% free education quota will be collected from all private schools.
