Faisalabad 15 Oct 2026 (DIGITAL ITLA): The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Faisalabad has arrested an accused for allegedly blackmailing, harassing, and issuing severe threats to a woman through the instant messaging application WhatsApp.
According to the agency's spokesperson, the suspect was allegedly exploiting the victim's personal and sensitive digital media to blackmail her. During the operation, law enforcement personnel recovered the mobile phone used in the commission of the offense, the associated WhatsApp account, and compromising data belonging to the complainant.
A case has been registered against the suspect under Sections 20, 21, and 24 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016 (amended), and further legal proceedings/investigations are currently underway.
