Qari Bashir, Mastermind of Rangers Camp Attack, Arrested
(Digital Itlaa) Law enforcement agencies have exposed the entire network behind the attack on the Rangers Camp (KTC) in Karachi, arresting the central terrorist and several facilitators.
Provincial Information Minister Zia-ul-Najar, IG Sindh Javed Alam Odho, Additional IG CTD, and SSP Irfan Bahadur shared key details regarding the development. According to SSP Irfan Bahadur, law enforcement agencies took immediate action following the attack and arrested the central terrorist, Muhammad Bashir, alias Qari Bashir.
During the investigation, it was revealed that after leaving Afghanistan, the terrorists crossed into Pakistani territory and first reached Hub City, from where they were brought to Chamra Chowrangi in Karachi in a special vehicle. The outlawed terrorist Qari Bashir accommodated all these attackers in a rented room and personally took responsibility for all facilitation in Karachi. There were 13 other facilitators working alongside Qari Bashir in this network. The SSP stated that the confession of the arrested suspect, Qari Bashir, has been secured, detailing the entire mechanism of the facilitation. Videos showing the terrorists preparing for the attack were also recovered from his possession.
The SSP added that in one video, suicide bomber 'Janan' can be seen training another outlawed terrorist, 'Umar', who had been brainwashed at a training camp in Afghanistan. In a second video, the terrorists are seen testing weapons before their departure, while Qari Bashir bids them farewell.
According to the police, Qari Bashir claimed he did not know the weapons suppliers because the leadership in Afghanistan was directly monitoring and guiding each group. He informed the police that the central smugglers who supplied weapons to this group have already been arrested, including terrorist Ehsanullah, who had provided weapons to other terrorists in Korangi.
Sindh Provincial Information Minister Zia-ul-Najar stated in a press conference that some Afghan nationals had been residing here temporarily, and some had even married locally. Expressing concern over the arrival of Afghan nationals disguised as Pashtuns, he made it clear that the government has made a decisive decision to immediately deport every Afghan citizen living without a visa. He added that Afghan soil is being used for terrorism, and India is also involved in this sabotage.
Speaking on the security situation, IG Sindh Javed Alam Odho said the sole purpose of these cowardly attacks is to sabotage the peace of Karachi. A large number of terrorists are being apprehended across the province. He shared that 37 terrorist incidents occurred in Sindh last year, whereas only 7 incidents have been reported in the province so far this year. Around 75 terrorists have been arrested during various operations. The IG Sindh also confirmed that logistical support and weapons are being provided to the terrorists from Afghanistan.
The Additional IG CTD stated that the entire network has been dismantled by arresting all the facilitators and players involved in the KTC Rangers Camp attack. He revealed that the terrorist group 'Jamaat-ul-Ahrar' has re-emerged in Karachi after a long time, and the terrorists involved in this attack had the full support of their leadership based in Afghanistan.
Sharing details of the attackers, he said the deceased terrorist 'Janan' was a resident of Farah province in Afghanistan, while the second terrorist 'Bilal' was born in Bajaur but had been living in the Afghan province of Kunar for the past 20 years. Additionally, the arrested terrorist 'Usman' belongs to the Nangarhar province of Afghanistan. The investigation into the entire case is progressing rapidly.
