(Digital Itla) Tensions have escalated once again in the Strait of Hormuz as the US and Iran launched retaliatory attacks against each other.

According to Iranian media reports, two Iranian soldiers were martyred in recent US attacks, including Navy Lieutenant Hamid Reza Dehghani, who was targeted in an attack on Jask Port. Another Iranian military personnel was martyred in Bushehr. The death toll from US attacks over the past four days has risen to 19, with more than 100 people injured, including civilians.

Earlier, Iran's state broadcaster reported that the Revolutionary Guards Navy announced the temporary closure of the Strait of Hormuz until further notice. According to the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), the IRGC Navy stated in its declaration that any foreign interference in the Strait of Hormuz or any attempt to establish a supposedly illegal route for shipping would meet a severe response.

According to the IRGC Navy, multiple ships ignored warnings regarding their route correction and the adoption of the authorized naval passage. One ship reportedly turned off its navigation systems, endangering maritime safety, and warning shots were fired at it after it ignored orders to change its course.
