Year's Second Solar Eclipse Set for August 12

(Digital Itla) The second solar eclipse of the current year will occur on August 12. It will be a total eclipse visible across parts of Europe and Africa, but only residents of Greenland, Iceland, northern Spain, and a corner of Portugal will witness the total eclipse.

A partial eclipse will be visible in other regions, whereas it will not be visible in Pakistan as it occurs at night local time. On August 12, the partial eclipse will begin at 10:34 PM PKT, reaching totality at 12:12 AM, and ending at 2:58 AM.

Spain will witness a total solar eclipse for the first time in over a century, with the last occurrence in 1912, just two days before the sinking of the Titanic. This eclipse is unique as viewers in Spain will experience totality right at sunset, creating a mesmerizing view. Russia's uninhabited Taymyr Peninsula will see the partial eclipse start at sunrise, while another region will experience it after sunset. Seeing an eclipse at sunset is a rare phenomenon occurring after many years.
