FAISALABAD, August 25, 2026: Two suspected robbers with criminal records were killed in an alleged police encounter in Faisalabad, police said on Tuesday.

According to police, the encounter took place near Prokiyanwala in the jurisdiction of Razaabad Police Station, involving teams operating under the supervision of CCD Iqbal Town in-charge Ali Akram Goraya, CCD Lyallpur Town in-charge Hassan Siddique Cheema and CCD Madina Town in-charge Syed Aram Raza Shah.

Police said the two suspects, identified as Zeeshan and Gulfam, were killed when their accomplices allegedly opened fire while attempting to escape. Other suspects managed to flee the scene.

The police said the two men were wanted in more than 50 cases involving alleged robberies, motorcycle snatching and shooting at citizens who resisted during robberies.

Videos allegedly showing the suspects committing some of the reported crimes had also circulated on social media, police said.

The bodies were taken into custody and shifted to the mortuary at Allied Hospital for medico-legal procedures.

Police have launched a search operation to arrest the suspects who fled the scene, while further investigation into the incident is underway.
