Trump Considers Sending Ground Troops; Preparations for a Major War Underway
(Digital Itla) An American newspaper has claimed that President Donald Trump has started considering sending ground troops to Iran. Citing U.S. officials, the Wall Street Journal reported that President Donald Trump is considering expanding U.S. military operations in Iran following several days of briefings from top aides.
Options being considered by the U.S. President include intensifying airstrikes on Iran, sending ground forces to seize Iranian islands near the Strait of Hormuz, and bombing a fortified site allegedly used for secret nuclear operations.
The report noted that Trump chaired a Situation Room meeting on Tuesday evening. In this meeting with government and military officials, potential operations involving U.S. troops to seize Kharg Island and other areas along the Strait of Hormuz were discussed, as well as a potential bombing of a tunnel complex at Pickaxe Mountain. The option of targeting sites linked to Iran's nuclear facilities was also under consideration. Additionally, expanding airstrikes against more targets in Iran, including energy sites, was discussed.
Earlier, when asked by journalists regarding a deadline for strikes on Iranian bridges, President Trump stated that he does not like giving deadlines. He mentioned that Iranian leaders want to meet and settle the matter, but Iran must first improve its behavior before seeing if any compromise can be reached with them.
