Trimming of leaning tree branches along Canal Road decided to protect human lives
Faisalabad 15 Oct 2026 (DIGITAL ITLA): Safeguarding green cover alongside protecting citizens' lives remains a pivotal priority for the divisional administration. Consequently, a formal decision has been made to trim the dangerous and leaning branches of trees along Canal Road to avert potential road hazards, with a strict directive that no tree will be chopped down under any circumstances.
These directives were issued during a high-level consultative meeting chaired by Commissioner Faisalabad Dr. Imran Hamid Sheikh. Deputy Commissioner Faisalabad Muhammad Noman Siddique, Additional Commissioner Coordination Qaisar Abbas Rind, Chief Officer Municipal Corporation Usman Ghani, MD Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Dilawar Khan, alongside senior forest officials, attended the meeting.
To ensure systematic implementation, the Commissioner constituted a high-level committee responsible for executing a comprehensive tree survey along Canal Road, supervising branch trimming, and overseeing the technical re-transplantation of displaced trees to suitable alternative sites.
