FAISALABAD: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Faisalabad Sohail Akhtar Sukhera met a delegation of Deobandi religious scholars from Faisalabad to discuss the law and order situation in the Faisalabad region and matters of mutual cooperation.
The delegation included Mufti Zia Madani, Maulana Habib-ur-Rehman Siddiqui, Pir Nazim Hafeez and other prominent religious scholars.
During the meeting, the RPO appreciated the positive role of religious scholars in maintaining peace and ensuring law and order.
The scholars assured the police of their full cooperation in promoting peace, security and inter-sectarian harmony in the region.
Sohail Akhtar Sukhera said religious scholars have an important role to play in promoting peace, tolerance and brotherhood in society.
He said effective measures would continue to be taken to further improve law and order through cooperation between the police and religious scholars.
The RPO stressed that promoting religious harmony and tolerance is a pressing need, adding that scholars from all schools of thought must play a constructive role in achieving this objective.
