FAISALABAD, Sept 29 (DIGITAL ITLA) — Punjab authorities have removed the managing directors of waste management companies in Kasur, Faisalabad, and Okara following mounting public complaints over poor sanitation standards, officials said.

The decisions were taken on the strict instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who expressed severe displeasure over the prevailing unhygienic conditions across various cities in the province.

In addition to their immediate removal from the flagship "Suthra Punjab" cleanliness initiative, the provincial government decided not to assign any future postings or key administrative roles to the dismissed officials.

Chief Minister Sharif further directed the concerned authorities to issue formal written warnings to managing directors of other districts who fail to maintain required sanitation benchmarks, warning that negligence in public service delivery will not be tolerated
