Pakistani travel vlogger and mountaineer Asma Mushtaq has died during an expedition to climb Spantik Peak, a 7,027-metre mountain in Pakistan’s Karakoram range.

Born on February 7, 1992, Asma was known in the mountaineering community for her passion for adventure, mountains and natural landscapes.

According to reports, Asma successfully reached the summit of Spantik with her guide, Ali Akbar, and was in good health at the time. However, while descending from the summit, she reportedly developed high-altitude sickness.

Her guide provided initial medical assistance, but she could not survive.

Karakoram Calling Treks is reportedly coordinating with the relevant authorities to arrange the recovery and transportation of her body.

Following news of her death, social media users expressed deep sorrow and offered condolences to her family. Many remembered her love for mountains, beaches and nature and prayed for her forgiveness and a high place in the hereafter.
