FAISALABAD: A man allegedly kidnapped for a ransom of Rs300 million was found to be a wanted accused in multiple fraud and breach-of-trust cases after police recovered him from the Kharliyanwala area.
According to police, the man, identified as Umair, was reported missing after his wife alleged that he had been kidnapped and that the kidnappers were demanding Rs300 million in ransom.However, following his recovery, police investigation revealed that more than 10 cases of fraud and breach of trust had been registered against Umair, and he was wanted by law enforcement agencies.
The SHO of Madina Town Police Station said Umair had been declared a wanted accused in a case registered at the police station. He was subsequently handed over to the relevant police authorities for further legal proceedings.Police said the alleged kidnapping case, the ransom claim and the cases registered against Umair are being investigated separately. The case took a new turn after the man reported as a kidnapping victim was found to be a wanted accused in multiple cases following his recovery.
