Industrial smoke near Kashmir Bridge causes severe air pollution as Environmental Protection Department remains inactive

Faisalabad 10 Oct (DIGITAL ITLA): Thick black smoke and toxic emissions originating from industrial units near Kashmir Bridge, Faisalabad, have severely degraded air quality in the vicinity, raising serious questions over the performance and oversight of the Environmental Protection Department.

Local residents and environmental observers expressed deep concern over unbridled emissions from factories, warning that the worsening air quality poses severe health risks, particularly for children, the elderly, and individuals suffering from respiratory ailments. Citizens pointed out that official claims regarding camera surveillance and digital monitoring of industrial units appear restricted to mere paperwork, with little to no visible enforcement on the ground.

Public circles have urgently appealed to higher authorities to take immediate notice of the situation, demanding strict legal action against industries flouting environmental laws to curb toxic smog and pollution in the city.
