(Digital Itla) The Government of Sindh has announced a public holiday on July 29, during which all provincial government and semi-government offices will remain closed.
According to details, the Sindh government issued an official notification declaring a public holiday across the province on Wednesday, July 29, on the occasion of the annual Urs of the great Sufi saint, Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai (R.A.).
The notification issued by the Services, General Administration, and Coordination Department stated that all provincial government offices, semi-government institutions, autonomous bodies, local councils, and educational institutions across Sindh will remain closed on Wednesday, July 29.
All concerned departments have been instructed to ensure full compliance with the holiday order.
The annual Urs of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai is considered the largest spiritual and cultural gathering in Sindh.
On this occasion, thousands of devotees, scholars, poets, and musicians from across the country visit his shrine located in Bhit Shah, Matiari district.
Traditional Urs ceremonies include Quran recitations, Mehfil-e-Sama (Sufi music renditions), literary conferences, poetry symposiums (mushairas), and cultural programs reflecting Shah Bhittai’s timeless message of peace, love, brotherhood, and religious tolerance.
In light of the large influx of visitors, strict security arrangements are being made in and around Bhit Shah by the district administration and Sindh Police.
Special measures, including traffic management plans, medical camps, and clean drinking water facilities, have also been set up for the convenience of devotees.
