(Digital Itla) Ghana's national football team head coach, Carlos Queiroz, has resigned following the team's elimination from the FIFA World Cup, ending his brief three-month tenure.
The 73-year-old took charge in April. While Ghana qualified for the Round of 32 as one of the best third-placed teams from Group L, they were knocked out after a 1-0 defeat against Colombia. This was Queiroz’s fifth consecutive World Cup, having previously coached Iran, Portugal, and Egypt.
Separately on the same day, Jordan's head coach, Jamal Sellami, also resigned after his team finished fourth in Group J. A total of five head coaches have stepped down so far in the ongoing World Cup.
