(Digital Itla) Addressing the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace, US President Donald Trump announced that an agreement has been reached to disarm Hamas and all other groups in Gaza.
In a statement posted on the social media platform Truth Social, President Trump stated that the Board of Peace has finalized a historic deal, marking significant progress toward establishing a new Palestinian government in Gaza.
Once the disarmament process is complete, Israeli forces will withdraw. The agreement will be implemented in a highly structured, phased manner.
The US President added that an International Stabilization Force, working alongside a new Palestinian police force, will assume responsibilities.
Meanwhile, US officials stated that implementation of the plan to disarm Hamas will begin within a few weeks. A local technocratic government is being considered as an alternative to the Palestinian Authority and Hamas.
Iran attempted to influence Hamas not to agree to the deal, but the United States successfully countered Iran's effort.
Board of Peace officials stated that the board will oversee the reconstruction of Gaza. The Palestinian resistance organization Hamas also confirmed that an agreement has been reached regarding arms and the phased withdrawal of the Israeli military from Gaza.
