FAISALABAD, Pakistan 28 Sep (Digital Itla) — Firefighters successfully contained a major fire that broke out in an open storage area of a textile mill along the Khurrianwala-Jaranwala Road on Monday, emergency services said.
The blaze ignited boiler fuel stock—including wood, sawdust, sugarcane residue, and organic material—spanning roughly one acre at M.K. & Sons Textile Mills, according to Rescue 1122 officials.
Seven fire tenders were deployed to battle the flames. Emergency teams utilized excavators to clear burning debris and leveraged the mill's fire hydrant system to assist water supply operations.
No casualties were reported, and crews remain on site conducting cooling operations to extinguish residual hotspots. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
