FIA Faisalabad Launches Crackdown Outside Passport Office, Arrests Two Agents

FAISALABAD, Aug 20, 2026: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Faisalabad has launched a crackdown against alleged agents illegally charging citizens extra money outside the Passport Office in Faisalabad, arresting two suspects.

The operation was conducted by the FIA Composite Circle Faisalabad on the directions of FIA Faisalabad Zone Director Saqib Sultan and Deputy Director Tariq Mahmood. The FIA team, led by SI/SHO Ajmal Hussain, arrested two alleged agents during the operation.

Passport application forms and other relevant material were recovered from the suspects. Voice notes and text messages related to passport applications and financial transactions with citizens were also found on the mobile phone of one of the accused.

According to the preliminary investigation, the suspects were allegedly charging citizens amounts above the official government fee in the name of providing assistance and priority services for obtaining passports.

A case, FIR No. 40/26, has been registered against the suspects under Sections 109, 165-A, 419 and 420 of the Pakistan Penal Code. Further investigation is underway.

FIA officials said strict legal action would be taken against individuals involved in illegally charging citizens, fraud, forgery or exploiting people in the name of passport services.
