Faking a dacoity backfires: Suspect arrested for making a hoax call to police, CPO warns of strict legal action

Faisalabad 8 Oct (DIGITAL ITLA): Police have arrested an individual who staged a fake dacoity drama and misled emergency services through a hoax distress call.

According to police, a caller named Bilal dialed the "Rescue 15" helpline, claiming that he had been intercepted and robbed by armed criminals. However, upon rushing to the scene, personnel from the Khurrianwala police station verified the facts and discovered that no such incident had occurred. The suspect had staged the false report simply to misappropriate funds or manipulate authorities. Police promptly apprehended the hoax caller, Bilal, and initiated formal legal proceedings against him.

Issuing a stern warning, the CPO Faisalabad stated that the misuse of the Emergency 15 service and the submission of false reports to law enforcement waste critical response time and will not be tolerated. He emphasized that strict legal action will be taken against anyone attempting to mislead the police through fabricated claims.
