Faisalabad Police Custody Escape: Trust Breach Suspect Flees Sargodha Road Station

FAISALABAD, Pakistan — Aug. 27, 2026 — A man arrested in a case involving alleged breach of trust escaped from police custody at the Sargodha Road police station in Faisalabad, police sources said, raising questions over security and supervision at the station. The suspect, identified as Naseer Ahmed, son of Siddiq, was being held in connection with a breach-of-trust case when he allegedly managed to escape from custody. Following the incident, police authorities detained Assistant Sub-Inspector Zahid Ali and constable Zahid for questioning, according to police sources. An investigation is under way to determine how the suspect escaped and whether any negligence was involved.

Allegations of Attempt to Suppress Incident

Sources also alleged that the station house officer (SHO) at Sargodha Road police station was attempting to suppress details of the incident. The allegation could not be independently verified. Police have not yet issued an official statement regarding the reported escape or the action taken against the officers.

Security Questions Raised

The incident has raised concerns about the procedures used to monitor suspects held in police custody and the security arrangements at the station. Authorities are continuing their investigation, while efforts are expected to be made to locate and arrest the escaped suspect. Further action against any officers found responsible will depend on the outcome of the inquiry.
