Faisalabad Employee Arrested Over Alleged Embezzlement of Rs285 Million
FAISALABAD: Police in Faisalabad have arrested an employee accused of allegedly embezzling Rs285 million ($1.02 million) after selling products belonging to Sitara Chemical Industries, police said.
The suspect, identified as Shoaib, allegedly sold the company's products and misappropriated the proceeds instead of depositing the money with the company, according to police.
Police said Sadar Police Station SHO Atiqur Rehman led the operation that resulted in Shoaib's arrest. Further investigation is under way, with authorities examining records and other evidence related to the alleged fraud.
Faisalabad City Police Officer said fraud and breach of trust committed under the guise of an employment relationship would not be tolerated.
“Those involved in fraud and deception will be brought to justice,” the CPO said, according to a police statement.
Police said legal proceedings against the suspect are continuing.
