Faisalabad Commissioner Announces Rs1 Million Prize for ‘One-Day Commissioner’ Public School Student

FAISALABAD, August 21, 2026: Faisalabad Commissioner Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh has expressed his determination to take public schools in the division to new heights in education, announcing that he will personally award Rs1 million to any public school student selected in the “One-Day Commissioner Faisalabad” competition. He made the announcement while distributing prizes among students who achieved outstanding results in the 2026 Matric examinations during the annual ceremony at the Divisional Public School and College Main Campus.

The commissioner invited a female student of DPS Samundri, who secured second position in the Education Board, as the chief guest and asked her to distribute prizes among other students. Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh said DPS was not an ordinary institution but had a distinguished history, adding that the objective was to raise public schools to international standards. He expressed hope that students from around the world would one day seek admission to these schools.

He said public schools would be linked with universities around the world to help students secure scholarships and gain access to international educational opportunities.The commissioner said the modern world was highly competitive, which was why the “One-Day Commissioner Faisalabad” competition was being introduced. He said the competition would assess not only academically talented students but also those excelling in extracurricular activities through examinations conducted at the level of CSS and PMS.

He congratulated students who achieved excellent results in the Matric annual examinations, as well as their teachers and parents. DPS Principal Alia Chattha presented the welcome address. Director Development/Director Schools Cell Asif Chauhan, principals and other government officials were also present at the ceremony.
