Three key projects to improve sewage and drainage systems across the city
FAISALABAD, Aug. 18, 2026: The Divisional Development Working Party (DDWP) has approved three major projects worth a combined Rs11.1 billion to upgrade drainage and sewerage infrastructure in Faisalabad.
The meeting was chaired by Faisalabad Commissioner Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office. Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nauman Siddique, Director Development Asif Chauhan, WASA Managing Director Saqib Raza and officials from the Highways Department attended the meeting.
The DDWP approved Rs3.8 billion for upgrading the drainage system in Faisalabad city.
A further Rs3.3 billion was approved for the rehabilitation of sewerage systems in Shadab Colony, Muhammadpura, Badr Colony, Dar-ul-Ehsan Town, Talianwala, Jhang Road and other settlements along Narwala Road.
The meeting also approved Rs4 billion for the construction and rehabilitation of a sludge carrier from Rasala Wala Road to the Dijkot seepage drain.
The three public welfare projects are scheduled for completion by March 31, 2027, December 31, 2026, and June 30, 2027, respectively.
Commissioner Imran Hamid Sheikh directed the relevant departments to ensure the projects are completed within the specified deadlines.
He said timely completion was essential to address the long-standing sewerage problems faced by residents and improve drainage facilities across the city.
