(Digital Itlaa) A massive surge in vehicle sales has been recorded in Pakistan, with car sales jumping by 39%.
According to details, the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) released a report showing that during the fiscal year 2025-26, the country witnessed a significant increase in the sales of cars, motorcycles, rickshaws, jeeps, pickup trucks, trucks, and buses, while a slight decline was observed in the sale of agricultural tractors.
The report stated that car sales reached 155,631 units in FY 2025-26, marking a 39% increase. During the same period, the sales of motorcycles and rickshaws recorded a 30% increase, with total sales reaching 1,972,077 units.
According to experts, the primary reasons for the increase in car sales are the improvement in consumers' purchasing power, an increase in auto financing facilities provided by banks, and the introduction of new models by manufacturing companies.
The report highlighted that during the fiscal year 2025-26, the sales of jeeps and pickup trucks grew by 41% to reach 50,814 units, while truck and bus sales recorded a 67% increase, with total sales at 7,439 units.
On the other hand, tractor sales in the agricultural sector fell by 1% during FY 2025-26, with overall sales standing at 28,791 units. According to experts, lower profit margins for farmers over the past few years have reduced new investment trends in the agricultural sector, which has consequently impacted tractor sales.
