Crucial Meeting Held Ahead of Sugarcane Crushing Season to Ensure Safe Transportation and Enforce Strict Rules Against Overloading

Faisalabad 30 Sep (DIGITAL ITLA) — An important meeting was held at the Office of the Chief Traffic Officer Faisalabad with the management of sugar mills from the Faisalabad region to discuss safe transportation measures ahead of the upcoming sugarcane crushing season.

The session focused on establishing key protocols to ensure safe sugarcane transportation, prevent accidents particularly during the foggy season, and maintain smooth traffic flow across the district. The agreed-upon measures include complete avoidance of overloading, a strict ban on coupling or doubling trolleys, mandatory installation of reflective tapes and proper lighting on all transport vehicles, and a prohibition on unnecessary roadside parking. Furthermore, authorities mandated that only drivers holding valid and effective driving licenses will be permitted to operate tractor-trolleys, with strict legal action warned against violators. Highlighting the initiative, officials emphasized that ensuring safe sugarcane transport, secure journeys, and accident prevention is a shared responsibility for all stakeholders.
